Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine cult.
The mission concentrates on "strange experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Content
Players who accomplish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's third free story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns.
